The Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is a renowned university in China. More than 20,000 students are enrolled at DUFE, and the curriculum is primarily focused on economics-related programs.

DUFE is located in Dalian, a coastal city in Liaoning Province. The city is known as an important trading and port hub in northeastern China and also features modern industrial parks as well as numerous branches of foreign companies and international retail chains.

Exchange students usually take most of their courses at the Global Institute of Management and Economics (GIME), which is part of DUFE. There, they benefit from practical teaching, English-language courses, and the exchange with fellow students from all over the world.

Both Master’s and Bachelor’s students can apply for a stay at DUFE. Please note:

  • The programme generally only starts in the winter semester (stay from September to January).
  • Before departure, at least the 4th semester of the Bachelor’s program should be completed.
  • The language of instruction at DUFE is English; proof of English proficiency at level B2 must be submitted prior to the start of the semester abroad.
  • Courses completed at DUFE may, in some cases, be recognized for the degree at JGU. Details should be clarified in advance.
  • As part of our partnership, JGU students do not have to pay any tuition fees at DUFE.
  • Travel and living expenses must be covered by the students themselves.
  • Additional funding option: PROMOS scholarship (further information available from the JGU International Office).

Tongji University is located in the vibrant economic hub of Shanghai, one of the most dynamic metropolises in the world. Its curriculum is strongly focused on engineering, economics, and management.

An unique form of a semester abroad in China is offered by the Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschulkolleg (CDHK) . It was established as a ‘bridge between China and Germany’ in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is a flagship of Tongji University. In cooperation with German partner universities, German-language courses are offered here, which promote intercultural exchange, research-oriented learning, and international career opportunities.

At the School of Economics and Management (SEM), one of the faculties of Tongji University, students can also take economics courses taught in English.

Only Master’s students can apply for a stay at Tongji University. Please note:

  • The programme generally only starts in the winter semester (stay from September to January).
  • The language of instruction at CDHK is German.
  • In addition, courses taught in English can be taken at the School of Economics and Management (SEM).

Courses completed at Tongji University may, in some cases, be recognized for the degree at JGU. Details should be clarified in advance.

  • As part of our partnership, JGU students do not have to pay any tuition fees at Tongji University.
  • Travel and living expenses must be covered by the students themselves.

Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) offers practice-oriented study programs in business and management. Students from over 70 countries study at KUAS. Advanced research, high-quality teaching, and collaborations with companies aim to equip them with the skills and responsibility needed to recognize and address global challenges.

Kyoto is an attractive study destination: the city is considered a dynamic hub for trade, innovation, and high-tech companies, and it is also home to numerous start-ups. Moreover, Kyoto uniquely combines tradition and modernity: as a former imperial city of Japan, it hosts numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, yet despite its historic atmosphere, it is a vibrant city with modern infrastructure and a focus on sustainable mobility.

The programme with KUAS is currently in the process of being set up and rolled out. At present, Master’s students from Mainz have access to MBA-level courses. Recognition of credits is possible in some cases. Interested students may contact us at any time.
