Our pre-university program is open to all talented and motivated upper secondary school students.
As pre-university program attendee at JGU, you attend regular university courses during the lecture period in addition to your regular school schedule. This gives you the opportunity to explore your desired field of study or gain further orientation, get to know the subject and student life more closely, and even earn academic credits that can later be recognized in a regular degree program in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Economics is a fundamental part of both private and public life. The positive and negative effects of the global economy are felt not only in the workplace and public sphere but also in everyday personal life. The methods used in economics help us better understand and evaluate global events and their interconnections. They also enable us to make data-based forecasts and develop alternative courses of action. Moreover, economic tools can be valuable in understanding human behavior and in making and analyzing well-informed decisions, both in public policy and in our personal lives.
There are extensive and good career prospects in the field of business and economics:
Marketing, market research, management, consulting, management accounting, banking, financial services, auditing, human resources, politics, associations, think tanks, non-profit sector, etc.
Pre-University Programs means:
- Study without pressure
- Find the study program that’s right for you
- Get to know how university works
- No costs for the pre-university program
- Use your early credits later
- Finish your degree faster
A successful pre-university program (for school pupils) requires an appropriate amount of time:
- Missed school content usually has to be made up independently
- The scope and timing of school assignments/exams is usually not reduced
- No recognition of university credits at school
- Usually one day of school missed per week
- Intensive studies at the university
- Studying for university exams
The pre-university program at JGU is not limited to business and economics. In principle, you can start a pre-university program in any department at the university. You’ll find more general and cross-disciplinary information under the university’s study orientation offerings.
