The Department of Business and Economics of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Goethe University Frankfurt (GU) have established a joint ethics commission by resolution of December 7, 2016. The commission is open to all members of both faculities.
The application procedure has two stages:
To apply, please first complete the “Checklist for exempt status”. If you have answered “Yes” or “Don’t Know” in Checklist 1, a medical ethics commission is responsible for your project; we cannot process your request, you should contact a medical ethics commission directly.
If you have answered “No” to both questions, please complete checklist 2. If all questions here have been answered with ‘No’, your research project is not subject to review by the joint ethics committee. For a certificate confirming the ethical harmlessness of your research project, please submit the signed checklists via email (dekanat-fb03@uni-mainz.de or ethikkommission@wiwi.uni-frankfurt.de).
If you answered one or more questions with ‘Yes’ or ‘Don’t know’ on Checklist 2, your research project is subject to ethical review, and a full application is required. Please complete the application form and submit it together with the checklist via email (dekanat-fb03@uni-mainz.de or ethikkommission@wiwi.uni-frankfurt.de).
